Activity, Options, Updates

What is socialIND?

socialIND.com is the first Indian Social Network site. It has complete functionality suit for the users to communicate, express, enjoy, live and remember/store the moments.

This is a free to use platform governed by Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.

How can I post my status?

Go to the homepage or to your timeline page, look for updates/status submission box.

Add your status/message/post/link/photo etc.

Select where to post it from “Post In” menu and submit to post.

This published status/message/post/link/photo etc.. is also known as an Activity.

How to view new updates?

You can see the updates only from your Friends.

Browse to homepage or to your timeline page and check the activity feed.

Where to find all the Members and Friends?

You can browse Members section to find all the site-wide members.

Your friends can be found at Friends section.

These options are available at header menu bar/button.

Where to find the Groups joined by me?

Your can find site-wide groups at Groups section.

Your can find all the Groups joined by you at My Groups section.

These options are available at header menu bar/button.

How can I make Friends and chat with them?

Browse through Members section to find all the site-wide members.

Click on “Add Friend” or “+” button to add them as Friends.

Then your friends can be found at Friends section.

Click on the Message icon/button to start the conversation with them.

Alternately you can use Message Box appearing at the Right-Bottom of every page.

How to Report/Block the User or Activity?

To Report or Block the User:

Go to the respective User’s profile page.

Click on the 3 dots “…”

Select the appropriate option from Report or Block.

To Report the Activity or Post: Go to the homepage or to your timeline page

Click on the 3 dots “…”

Select Report option.

You can not block a single activity from the User, for this you need to block the User by following earlier steps.

What are the options available for published Activity?

Click 3 dots “…” on the respective Activity, you will find following options:

Add Favorite:

With this option selected, you can add the respective Activity into your Favorite section.

Pin to Top:

This option helps you to keep the desired Activity on the top of the list on timeline.

Delete: (on own Activity)

This option helps to DELETE your own Activity. Once clicked this option, the process can not be undone.

Why am I shown Profile Settings page?

Personal Information under Profile Setting is required to have permissions to explore socialIND platform.

It includes all the fields under Personal Information and your Profile Picture

How can I change my Profile Avatar and Cover?

Go to your Profile Page.

Click on Camera icon on Profile Avatar or Pencil icon on Cover Image to change the desired one.

Alternately

Open the User Menu by clicking your Profile Avatar located at Top-Right corner of the screen.

Select Profile Settings option.

This will take you to Profile Edit Page, with Profile Settings –> Personal Information (Required) selected.

You can find options to upload Profile Avatar and Cover Image below your Name.

What are the fields under Profile Settings?

There are 4 sections under Profile Settings, they are as below:

– Under Personal Information are the required fields.

– Under Hobbies and Interest are the Optional fields.

– Under Professional and Educational are the Optional fields.

– Under Social Profile Details are the Optional fields.

Your Profile Page’s main view and details are consist of all these fields.

What are the important options under Profile?

Timeline:
This is the option to see main timeline page and all the Activities.
Activities can be further filtered as Mentions, Favorites, Friends, Groups

About:
This is the option to view your Profile information.

Notification:
All the Notifications are listed under this option.
Notifications can be further filtered as Unread, Read.

Friends:
Your Friends are listed under this option.
Moreover you can view the Friendship Requests under this option.

Groups:
All the Groups you are part of are listed under this option.
You have sub-option “Invitations” underneath to check all the invites you received to join other Groups.
Messages:
You can view all your conversations with your Friends under this option.
Further there are 3 sections; First to view the list of Messages, Second to list your Friends, Third to list the Groups you are part of.
You can Search and Chat only with your Friends.

To-do:
You can view all your Pending Tasks under your To-do list with their Due Date and Criticality.
There is a sub-option “Add” to add new Task under your To-do List.

Invitations:
This option is to send Invites to your external contacts through Email to join socialIND platform.
There is a sub-option “Pending Invites” to view the list invites sent by you but not accepted by your contacts.

Media:
You can view all of your Media Files (from Timeline) under this option. You can find all of them under Album named “”Wall photo gallery”.

Settings:
It takes you to the Account Settings meu, you can read more about Account Settings menu in next FAQ.

Where can I set Privacy for my items?

Location: My Profile –> Settings tab –> Account Settings –> Profile visibility settings

You can set Privacy for individual profile details under Profile Settings and for Activity/Images etc.. from their respective options.

How can I restrict my account visibility to my Friends only?

Location: My Profile –> Settings tab –> Account Settings –> Privacy and security

When your account is private, only your friends can see your profile and activities.

Where can I see Blocked Users?

Location: My Profile –> Settings tab –> Account Settings –> Block List

How can I get/download my account data safely?

Location: My Profile –> Settings tab –> Account Settings –> Export Data
