How and where to apply Adhaar Card?

Step 1: Book an Appointment (Recommended)
Booking an online appointment at an Aadhaar Seva Kendra (ASK) helps you skip long queues.

Step 2: Locate a Nearby Enrolment Centre
If you choose not to book an appointment, you can find the nearest authorized centre (in banks, post offices, or government buildings) using these tools:

Step 3: Prepare Your Documents
You must carry original documents for verification. They will be scanned and returned to you immediately.

Proof of Identity (POI): Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, or Driving License.

Proof of Address (POA): Bank Passbook, Electricity/Water bill (last 3 months), or Ration Card.

Proof of Date of Birth (DOB): Birth Certificate or SSLC Marksheet.

Step 4: Visit the Centre & Complete Enrolment
Fill the Form: You can get the form at the centre or download it in advance.

Biometrics: The official will take your photo, scan your fingerprints, and scan both irises.

Review: Verify your details on the screen before the operator submits the data.

Collect Acknowledgement Slip: This contains your 14-digit Enrolment ID (EID).

Step 5: Track Status and Download
Aadhaar generation typically takes 30 to 90 days.

Important Information for 2026:
Fees: Fresh Aadhaar enrolment is Free of Cost.

Children: For children born on or after October 1, 2023, a Birth Certificate is mandatory for enrolment.
